How the projections work
A gradient-boosted model trained on every QB, RB, WR and TE game from 2018–2024 projects a median, a floor and a ceiling for each player. The floor and ceiling are the 10th and 90th percentiles, so about 8 in 10 games land inside the range. Boom is the chance of a big game: QB 25+, RB/WR 20+, TE 15+. Inputs include recent points, expected points from usage, snap, target and carry share, Vegas implied team totals, and how many points the opponent allows to the position. Tested on the 2025 season it never saw, the median was off by 5.1 points per player-week, versus 5.5 for season averages, and the range caught 78% of outcomes. See the weekly accuracy scorecard → Matchup rank: 1 is the defense that allows the most points to the position, so lower is better.
